Change Onslaught to be Health based, not HASTE based

Postby Hachiman_Defender_of_Oda » Thu Sep 06, 2012 10:33 am

Instead on Onslaught being a set time per energy, to where HASTE becomes a focus, why not change the Onslaught to where:

1) Pay the energy cost to enter battle
2) You get to endlessly attack and damage the boss until you die. (no health potions allowed)
3) Once you die, you can heal yourself (or maybe give full health?), then reenter the battle
4) The boss has a total health and only dies once that health has been exhausted by all participants
5) RPP is based on damage you do

What????? Are you crazy???? You mean that Health, Resist and Dodge will all have a purpose in this game?!?!?!?!?! Get out of here!!!!

For all you humor impaired, I'm joking. It's a decent idea.

That's kind of my point...lol

Everything in this game that is DEFENSIVE has no point. Bosses and mobs are easy, so why bother with it?

I like the idea of an until you die area, but I don't think it should be implemented into onslaught. I think there should be a special survival dungeon type thing, and maybe also a raid version.

That'd be fine, but it should have equal or better rewards, because right now there is no use for Health Gems, or even Resist Gems honestly...Most builds are straight offense and no defense.

I have 4 Justicars, in an attempt to MAKE them different successful builds, and its difficult.

Fun idea.

Items are overpowered yes. Enemies are too weak yes.

Even if you were fighting a boss right now, until you died, I guarantee you could last almost forever just from using minor break rune, and whatever interrupts/slows your character has.

I totally agree that something should be done to lessen a character's ability to survive and increase the overall strategy required for battles and also posted a rather lengthy description of the problem as I saw it as well.

Cool idea, so raiding and earning valors in raids opens up a totally new perspective - to buy resist and dodge gems and switch the gems before going into such battles!

Exactly, imagine having the depth to actually customize your gear, even change from a 2handed to a Sword and Shield, for the purpose of different raids.

I think it would be good if some Onslaughts work as now, Energy-based, but with some new ones added, or just special phases, that are HP-based, with no healing potion use allowed.
