Discuss, Math: Spending Knight Valor or Tier 11 items & Tier 4 Gems, Choosing (Math, Strategy)

Because of the September Double Valor Weekend, I am posting the latest rough drafts.

NOTE: CJ is sick and has not had time to proof read this post. Please ignore any misspellings, pronoun reference problems and poor word choices.
Ex: Finally, tracking down the mother Gorgon's nest, WELDING a sword and shiny shield, the priestess poked its sharp edge around the corner. She hissed in surprise when the intruder was not turned to stone, immediately attacking with her vorpal weapon. But the battle axe JINGLED off the enchanted collar protecting the priestess.

Spending Knight Valor

NOTE: FT_NikoNarf is correct. Not only can you get into higher Raids for more Knight Valor (Researcher’s Note: v1.4.2 War of Fellmarsh rewards more Knight Valor per Energy Spent in Raid than any other Raid), upgrading Stats is more important for Tier 11 items and Tier 4 Gems than upgrading weapon damage. More attacks, more critical hits for more critical damage overshadows upgrading to Tier 11 Weapon based only on base damage. Table is updated.

When upgrading from all Tier 10 items & Tier 3 Gems to Tier 11 items & Tier 4 Gems, increase in Might Rating by Knight Valor per Point increase:

In many cases, might matters more than damage or armor, since missing the might requirement for a high-level raid can cost a player hundreds of potential knight valor... particularly trying to reach Vallus (8150).

Assuming a character has all tier 10 gear, the best might per kv ratio comes from buying a t11 ring and amulet first. If the character still has +4 gems on a ring, amulet, chest, 2H weapon, helm or leggings, a +8 gem will give the largest might to kv ratio.

with farming for +6 gems getting very difficult, it is rare that a char will have a full +6 gem assortment before having access to knight valor. In some cases, the level 4 gem is best since it will take the place of a level 3 gem, and that level 3 gem will then displace a level 2 gem. So if a character has full t10 gear but level 2 gems on a (x4) multiplier item, the might gain for a +8 gem could be as high as 160 per 3000kv, better than 20 to 1

Deathwing Raiders is mixing Knight Valor and Soldier Valor Raids, we have unlocked Vallus and Shadow. All my characters can get into Vallus. None of my characters have full Tier 3 Gems (35 & 31 out of 40), however, I just bought four Tier 3 Gems (two each character) with Soldier Valor from the Labor Day Contest. I also bought my first Tier 11 item. CJ has half her Tier 11 Items. Some of our members who "Merc" might have more.

We are earning both Knight Valor & Soldier Valor, so I am buying all Tier 11 items and Tier 3 Gems before purchasing any Tier 4 Gems.

Unless Venan changes the current system, I prefer spending Soldier Valor on Tier 3 Gems then up converting to Knight Valor. 60,000 Soldier Valor, enough for 40 Tier 3 Gems, up converts to 3,000 Knight Valor the amount needed for a single Tier 4 Gem.

Equations: Tier 11 items & Tier 4 Gems Increasing Might

Tier 11 Torso with rest Tier 10 & all Tier 3 Gems.
(*4 Location Bonus *4 Gems Slots *[11 -10] Tier Item * 6 Gem ) = 96/ 6720 = 1.429% Increase in Total Might Rating

Cross check 1.429% *28 Total Location Bonus /4 Torso Location Bonus = 10% upgrading all Tier 10 items to Tier 11.

Tier 4 Gem in Torso with rest Tier 3 Gem & all Tier 10 items.
(*4 Location Bonus *1 Gem *10 Tier Item * [8 -6] Gem ) = 80/ 6720 = 1.190%

Cross check 1.19% *28 Total Location Bonus /4 Torso Location Bonus *4 Gem Slot = 33.33% upgrading all Tier 3 Gems to Tier 4.

Tier 11 Foot with rest Tier 10 & all Tier 3 Gems.
(*2 Location Bonus *4 Gem Slots *[11 -10] Tier Item * 6 Gem ) = 48/ 6720= 0.7143%

Tier 4 Gem in Foot with rest Tier 3 Gem & all Tier 10 items.
(*2 Location Bonus *4 Gem Slots *10 Tier Item * [8 -6] Gem ) = 40/ 6720 = 0.5952%

All Tier 11 items from all Tier 10 items with Tier 3 Gems (10 items total).

Tier 8 Sword & v1.4.2 Picture Quick Look

Researcher Update: My Shadow Walker is currently using a Tier 8 Sword 1.0 Speed. I am not noticing a huge difference between it and my Tier 11 Axe 1.1 Speed. Magic, Melee, Crit, Crit Power & Haste really do make a bigger difference than Base Weapon Damage at 9550 Might Rating

v1.4.2 Note: Book of Heroes 1.4.2 is adding a picture quick look to Chat/ Leaderboards/ etc. Click on a name, then a button, and you will see a character's picture. I am rearranging the below list based on this.

Getting into War of Fellmarsh

Researcher’s Note: v1.4.2 War of Fellmarsh rewards more Knight Valor per Energy Spent in Raid than any other Raid. This also translates into more Knight Valor per Gold Shields Spent in Raid.

- > Cursed Keep v1.4.2
Metrics: 833 energy per Tier 4 Gem or 277 Gold Shields per Tier 4 Gem

- > War of Fellmarsh v1.4.2
Metrics: 551 energy per Tier 4 Gem or 183 Gold Shields per Tier 4 Gem

Metrics are like Miles Per Gallon, they let you compare the Valor from Raids.

Basic Advice:
The quicker you can get into your Guild's War of Fellmarsh, the better.
Spread your Hero Tokens evenly among all 8 Stats.
Free ($0 IAP) characters should use Soldier Valor and Gem Drops to increase their Might Rating.

If your Guild is running a Raid you cannot get into due to low Might Rating, and you are spending Gold Shields for energy in Raids, instead use the Gold Shields to buy enough Tier 3 Gems to get into your Guild's highest Raid. 20 Gold Shields from Majerio's Shop is cheaper than earning the Tier 3 Gems with Soldier Valor. And faster than Gem Drops. Don't miss out on the higher Valor per energy spent of higher level Raids.

If you Might Rating is high enough to get into your Guild's highest Raid, Dungeon Bosses get you Gem Drops, Major Spirit Rune drops, Silver Coin for purchasing Minor Spirit Runes and Alchemist Lockbox.
