Cool downs... view and wait

When clicking on an ability that is not yet cooled down, could you not only display the stats (damage, effect, cast time) but also the amount of time remaining until the cool down is complete?

Even better, like the "use" text that displays before an ability is selected, how about text that says "wait" for abilities not yet cooled down. Waiting would grant no defense benefits, but would be useful when a desired ability has 0.03s of cooldown left, and no other ability with a casting time less than 0.50s is available.

I have been thinking about adding something like this for a bit. However, if we added it, there would have to be a maximum amount of time the system would allow you to wait. We don't want people to be able to stun someone, then do nothing for a significant amount of time in order to allow all their cooldowns to reset. This is one of the main reasons defend was changed to have a cooldown.

Easy... waiting or defending breaks a stun. This would allow unlimited defending or waiting.

With a remaining cool down of 0.25 or less would be awesome for Raiding.

Maybe in PvP a 0.10 Wait and a 0.8 Poison Cloud could show up as 0.9 Poison Cloud?

Instead of "Use" and "Wait" perhaps "Use" (already cooled down) and "Queue" (remaining cool down plus casting time).

Thete's a flipside here though, and I'm working with it right now on one of my toons. If your abilities leave you with timers under 0.1 sec to do something, then your haste stat is suboptimal. Either get more haste so that a defend is reasonable or switch out some haste for something else so that your timers work more in tune with each other. Adding a wait feature smoothes out that suboptimal valley...more haste would always be better (as far as timers go. I'm not necessarily against a wait feature but it would change the character desugn landscape significantly.
