T19 Weapon plus a Full T18 Coliseum Gear Set, minus the T18 Coliseum Weapon (8/9 Coliseum Set for 2h, or 9/10 Coliseum Set for 1h) gives approx. +24% (2h)/ +25% (1h) Damage and +0% Armor versus Full T18 Gear (multipurpose from Majerio)

A character wearing 9 pieces of a Tier 16 2h Coliseum Gear Set, or 10 pieces of a Tier 16 1h Coliseum Gear Set, gets +20% VS Player. This is roughly the same as a Tier 17.1 or 17.2 multipurpose Weapon with Tier 16 multipurpose Armor. So a Tier 17 multipurpose Weapon is not as good, but a Tier 18 multipurpose Weapon is better.

Wow. Well I suppose once too many ppl have the full pvp set many will stop pvping.

Players with pvp items equipped should only be fighting other players with pvp items.

No the whole point is to make a choice and invest in pvp gear to get an edge (at the expense of pve). If pvp items causes you to lose that edge, i.e. fight others with the same gear, then we might as well not have it at all.

Note: This works if VS Player and VS Monster affects only damage.

A good rule of thumb is, a full Tier X Coliseum Gear Set, 9/9, is better than a full set of Tier X multipurpose Gear in PvP, VS Player not as good as Tier X+2 multipurpose Weapon (with Tier X Armor & Cloak) and VS Monster better than Tier X-2 multipurpose Weapon (with Tier X Armor & Cloak).

Example:
A full set of Tier 12 Coliseum Gear,
is better than a full set of Tier 12 multipurpose Gear in PvP,
VS Player not as good as Tier 14 multipurpose Weapon (with Tier 12 Armor & Cloak),
VS Monster is better than Tier 10 multipurpose Weapon (with Tier 12 Armor & Cloak).

Note: If VS Player and VS Monster affects damage and damage mitigation, then max Tomes/ Hero Training for Dodge, Phys Resist, and Magic Resist have a huge impact when comparing Coliseum Gear and multipurpose Gear due to huge diminishing returns on damage and armor, but *not* on Dodge (for most PvP characters), Phys Resist and Magic Resist (all characters).

T17 PvE, T16 PvE & PvP

T17 PvE, T16 PvE & PvP

As predicted, a full T16 Coliseum Gear Set (9/9) is the same same as a T17.2 PvP Weapon and T14.8 PvE Weapon for Weapon Damage.

The T16 Set doing 2.9% more Weapon Damage vs a T16 Weapon than a T17 Weapon vs a T16 Weapon, when used in PvP. The T16 Set doing 6.6% less Weapon Damage vs a T16 Weapon than a T15 Weapon vs a T16 Weapon, when used in PvE.

Note: Weapon Damge, *not* Base Weapon Damage or All PvP Damage, they are three different Stats.

The T17 1h Sword is better choice in PvP than the T17 2h Sword since the 2h Sword gives up the +10% All PvP Damage Bonus for a full Coliseum Gear Set. Additionally, the 2h Sword requires level 30 to use, while the 1h Sword can be used in PvP at Level 15 *and* still get the Set Bonus.

1,126 / 1,314= 0.8569 (-0.1431)

0.8 (Coliseum Gear Set) / 0.8569 = 0.9336 (Coliseum Worse than T15 in PvE)

1,075- 1,314 T16 1h Sword 1.0 Speed
790- 966 T14 1h Sword 1.0 Speed

790/ 1,075= 0.7349
966/ 1,314= 0.7352

0.8 (Coliseum Gear Set) / 0.7349 = 1.08858 (Coliseum Better than T14 PvE)

Mage Cassidy & Coliseum Gear (R=ADV)

Mage Cassidy & Coliseum Gear (R=ADV+)

Short Form
Coliseum Gear is some of the most annoying math in all of BoH.

Long Form

Rating: Advanced and up

The math is complex, and differs based on your playing style, so if you have any questions, ask your Guild mates since they have the best idea of your playing style.

Currently Lean War Mage Cassidy is using T18 Coliseum Leg Armor on all her Builds (Note 1). It only gives her a -2% VS Monsters, and gives her Haste & Defense a huge boost over her old T14 Leg Armor (from Majerio)

For her "Lucky F Mob" & "Fire Boss" Builds, she is using T14 Cloak, T11 Amulet, and T11 Ring from Majerio with Luck Rank 3 on each. This gives her a chance at Bonus Loot against Seasonal Mobs, Dungeon Mobs and Dungeon Bosses (with Bosses' huge Loot Drops).

For her "Coliseum (PvP Only)" & "CryptKeepr" Builds she is using T18 Amulet & T18 Cloak from Coliseum with T14 Ring from Majerio with Fire Rank 4 & Ice Rank 4 on each. Her total penalty is -6% VS Monsters, but this is offset by her +12% Fire Damage & +12% Ice Damage for a +6% Gain versus Keepers. The Amulet, Cloak and Ring also give her a boost in Haste versus Keepers and Onslaught Timers.

She uses her "Lucky F Mob" Build when mobs will not include Keepers, and her "CryptKeepr" Build when fighting in Crypt of Corruption or hunting Keepers. She does not use her Luck Gear in Crypt, which only gives her a +4.5% Bonus Loot (and does not effect Raid Rewards). Instead she uses her Fire & Ice Gear since the higher Tier Gear shaves 0.01s off her attacks letting her get 1500 RPP per 4 Energy instead of 1350 RPP, an increase of 11% in combat encounters, Loot Drops *and* Raid Rewards per 4 Energy.

Note 1)
After she won the T19 Staff, but before she could equip it, she used the T16 Coliseum Staff on all her Builds. It only gave her a -4% VS Monster, and gave a huge damage, Haste and Magic Rating boost over her old T11 Staff.

Cassidy did not buy T14 Leg Armor from Majerio, at the time, since she was hoping to win the T19 Leg Armor from the Lucky Event Lockbox, but did not. By the time she was ready to upgrade her Leg Armor, her Might Rating was 22000, and the T18 Coliseum Leg Armor was a good choice for her play style.
