Replaying BoH Annually (Dec)

Replaying BoH Annually, every December

Creating a new character, and replaying BoH, can be a fun thing to do each year.

MY PERSONAL OPINION
There is currently no way to reread flavor text, or Quests, in BoH. If you start a new character, you get to reread all the flavor text including the jokes and awesome NPC art.

Even if you could reread flavor text, or Quests, there is no way to rerun Quests for tangible In Game Rewards, or just for fun, in BoH. If you start a new character, you can enjoy earning the In Game Rewards from the Quest over again.

Even if you could reread the flavor text, or Quests, some of the coolest BoH Monster Art is only shown during Quests. If you start a new character, you can enjoy looking at this artwork again.

The art files for BoH are getting bigger and bigger each year, but most of that space is wasted on End Game characters. If you start a new character, you can enjoy seeing your character in lower level Gear, fighting low level Monsters, meeting low level NPCs, all the fun you had before.

At high Levels, it is a long grind. Low Level Quests quickly reward your character with XP, silver coin, Gear and Gems. If you start a new character, a lot of the fun you experienced with BoH will be available to you again.

As Venan tinkers with BoH, they add new low Level Quests. End Game characters get little benefit from new low Level Quests, except for removing the annoying, flashing “do this Level 2 Quest” icon.

Note: Daily Bounty does not even come close to the fun of low Level Questing, the only reason to grind Daily Bounties is XP before Fellmarsh Map. Reminder, Nature Shadow Walkers can have a few problems in Fellmarsh and versus high spider areas (Sha’lyn’s Lair Dungeon). Fire War Mages can have problems in Dragonmoor. Ice Mages can have problems in Vale of the Ice Dragon.

Low Level characters get the best benefits from Seasonal Lockbox. The joy of getting a Tier 17 1h Sword from Lockbox when you still are using a Tier 5 Weapon is awesome.

Completing older Quests require going to Combat Zones that often drop Crafting Ingredients (Mountain Lichen, Fell Leaves, Polar Melt). Additionally, these Crafted Potions have a larger effect on lower Level characters.

Guild Favors are based on your Stat Rating. Lower level characters get a greater benefit from Guild Favors.

If you create a new character at the beginning of December, they get ten free Holiday Goblin of Dooooom (HoliGob) Lockboxes. My Level 9 character got a free Tier 15 Cloak from a free HoliGob Lockbox. HoliGob Lockbox is more useful for lower Level characters.

Venan usually has a Gold Shield Sale during Winter Break from School (end of December). Gold Shields have a much bigger impact on low Level characters.

Venan usually adds new Gems, and lowers the cost GS cost of older Gems, at the end of each year. Low level Gems have a much bigger impact on low Level characters.

While Tier 11 is the highest GS Gear available, GS Gems get cheaper each year. So you can get further in the game for less GS, every year.

If you create a new character at the end of November, they will get a BoH mail at the beginning of December with a “Happy Birthday Book of Heroes” small gift.

If you were annoyed when Venan changed your character’s face, you can create new memories and new Guild mates without being constantly reminded of the lost character art you loved.
