Rating: Medium and Up

After you already have a Level 15- 29 character, let us examine different strategies, and different amounts of Gold Shields (GS), for building a second character with GS.

The purpose of this analysis is to budget your Real World money, and GS, to take advantage of bonus GS for buying larger amounts of GS at once.

You can save time by using GS to buy Gear, Gem Slots, and Gems far ahead of Monsters the same Level as your second character, making combats quicker.

You can save Silver Coin and Valor by skipping over buying some Tiers of Gear and Gems.

You can save Silver Coin and Valor by skipping over selling lower Tier Gear back to Majerio’s Shop for Silver Coin (items bought with Valor) or a reduced amount (items bought with Silver Coin).

Tier 6 Items can be bought for GS and used at Level 1, but Tier 6 Items bought with Silver Coin require Level 16 to use (equip). That means Tier 6 Items are scaled to fight Monsters Level 15- 19. If you buy Tier 6 Items with GS (or squire Valor) you can use them from Level 1 but the Weapons will be very destructive versus Level 1 Monsters. Once you are Level 15, you still cannot use Tier 6 Items bought with Silver, but you can now buy Tier 11 Items with GS. Tier 11 Items are scaled to fight Monsters approximately Level 26- 29 being fairly effective versus Level 15 Monsters (for maximum effectiveness you will need to purchase Augment Gems, see Advanced section below).

Buying a Tier 6 Weapon at Level 1 then a Tier 11 Weapon at Level 15 with GS lets you do Max Damage to end combats faster. Weapon can be 2Hand (Justicar & War Mage) or 1Hand plus Dagger (Shadow Walker).

Weapon Only= 189 GS

Beginner’s Offer is only available for the first 72 hours after creating a character. In v2.0 this includes a Tier 6 Ring (Location Bonus for Augment Gems is *4).

Armor Bundles are a Best Buy for Defense Mitigation to reduce Silver Coin spent on Healing Potions. Tier 6 Armor Defense Mitigation for Monster Level 15- 19 drastically reducing damage from Level 1 Monsters. Tier 11 Armor Defense Mitigation for Monsters approximately Level 26-29 being fairly effective against Level 15 Monster even without Augment Gems. This also gives your character Chest Armor (Location Bonus for Augment Gems is *4), Helm (Location Bonus *3) and Leg Armor (Location Bonus *3) giving you the most effectiveness for Augment Gems until you get Tier 12 Gear.

Bundles are discounted 20%.
Tier 6 Armor Bundle 72 GS
Tier 11 Armor Bundle 231 GS
Above plus Armor Bundles= 492 GS

Note: Elite Starting Bundle is 125 GS which includes all the above Tier 6 Gear plus a Tier 2 Cloak and six Tier 1 Gems for a cost of +3 GS (125 GS -5 GS from Daedalus -45 GS Weapon -72 GS Armor Bundle= +3 GS) or a savings of 18 GS (3 – 21 GS Tier 6 Ring) if you buy it in the first 72 hours and get the Beginner’s Offer.

Researcher’s Note: (you can skip this) technically you cannot buy Gear until Level 3, except for the Starting Bundles. However, it is impossible to die before you reach Level 3, since the first four Levels serve as an in game tutorial.



Cloaks are not included in Armor Bundles but are the last item that gives your character more Defense Mitigation (see Armor Bundles above).
Tier 6 Cloak 18 GS
Tier 11 Cloak 58 GS
Above plus Cloak= 568 GS

A larger Energy Bar means logging into game less often to spend Free Energy (see also Dungeon Banking, Note 1) and gaining access to 20 Energy Dungeons earlier. Smaller Energy Bar means you need to either log in more often, or lose more Free Energy, since a full Energy Bar is not a regenerating Energy Bar.

***Note*** Buy one at a time, since free Energy Bar Refill with each Sigil Purchase. Buy when your Energy Bar is zero. Start with 180 GS Sigil (22 Energy Refill), then 70 GS (26 Energy Refill), then 10 GS (28 Energy Refill) then Silver Coin Sigil (30 Energy Refill).

Above plus Max GS Sigils= 828 GS



Rating: Advanced and Up

If buying Tier 5 Gems *and* Tier 6/ 11 Gear for starting character, Haste Gems are the most effective use of GS. Haste Gems are not affected by Character Level or Opponent’s Level. Buy two to six Tier 5 Gems, this will let you use them for the longest time before replacing with Tier 6 Haste Gems.

2* Tier 5 Haste Gems & Chest Gem Slots B- D (160+ 60= 240)
+10 Gem* T11 Gear* 4 Location* 2 Slots= +880 Might or 23.40% Haste or 130% DPS (at Level 15)
Above plus Haste Rating 880= 1,068 GS

2* Tier 5 Haste Gems, Tier 11 Amulet & Amulet Gem Slots B- D (240+ 67= 307)
+10 Gem* T11 Gear* 4 Location* 2 Slots= +880 Might or 31.88% Haste or 146% DPS (at Level 15)
Above plus Haste Rating 1,760= 1,375 GS

2* Tier 5 Haste Gems, Tier 11 Ring & Ring Gem Slots B- D (=307)
+10 Gem* T11 Gear* 4 Location* 2 Slots= +880 Might or 36.26% Haste or 156% DPS (at Level 15)
Above plus Haste Rating 2,640= 1,682 GS

Not to Bj: forgot to add cost of Tier 6 Amulet & Ring.

I strongly recommend you buy no other Tier 5 Gems with GS until you have at least one Level 32 Character.

If buying more than six Tier 5 Augment Gems, it is recommended you stop at twenty (Chest *4, Amulet *4, Ring *4, Helm *4, Leg Armor/ 2Hand Weapon *4). You can then shift Tier 5 Gems to Gear with lower Location multipliers as you gain Tier 6 Gems.



Note: Buying Hero Tokens with GS, is a poor investment. Explanation= Buying all Tier 11 Gear, all Tier 5 Gems and opening all Gem Slots B- D costs 4,367 GS for +12,300 Might or +2.82 Might per GS. Spending 80 GS on 80 Hero Tokens gives a starting Level 1 character +64 Might or +0.8 Might per GS, more Tokens give *even less* Might per GS. Until Max Gear and Max Gems, spending GS on Hero Tokens is a poor investment.

You can get very far in PvE with no Augment Gems.

You can also get very far in PvP with no Gems.

Type of weapons/gears: The damage you do whether by mages or fighter is directly related to the weapon's damages range. The highest damages weapons you can get at any level is usually through raids' reward or sometime goldshields. These weapons sometime doesn't have strict level requirements like those acquire by silvers!
