Speed Run Event

Postby Lord_Venan » Fri Mar 08, 2013 6:09 pm

This weekend we're holding a Speed Run event! The event kicks off Saturday March 9th at 9am EST/2PM GMT and ends on Monday March 12th at 10am EDT/2pm GMT.

For this event, we'll reward the fastest completion times for each raid in the game.

The participants in the fastest raid will win the following prizes:

- Elixir of Commerce III (20% Store Discount)
- 2000 Valor appropriate for that raid
- 2000 Hero Tokens

We will also choose five raids at random and award them a consolation prize featuring an Elixir of Commerce I, 500 Valor and 500 Hero Tokens! So even if you aren't an "elite" guild, there is no harm in trying!

To keep it fair for Guilds both old and new, we have a few rules:

1. To qualify for a given raid, that raid must award the highest valor your guild has reached so far. For example, if you have done a raid that awards Soldier's Valor, you would not qualify for any Squire's Valor raids like Lockbolt or Plaguerider.
2. For a raid to qualify, it must both start and end within the official time window.
3. A guild can only win once. If they qualify for multiple, then their highest finish will count, with the highest might raid being the tie-breaker.
4. A character can only win once. If they manage to participate in more than one winning raid, they will receive the prize for the highest might raid they participated in.

Those are all the rules (so far!). Happy Raiding Heroes!

Edit: Due to day light savings time changes in the US, the event will end at 10 AM EDT (instead of 9 AM EST). The event will still end at 2 PM GMT.

2. You can choose any raid in your tier, not just the highest raid in your tier.
3. If you have unlocked a raid, and haven't run it yet, then you don't have to compete in that tier.

Reason: Unfixed typo, as I realized someone else correctly updated for DST. Doh!

Fastest ever breaking previous records, or fastest occurring during the window?

Do you need to be in the guild that won at the time of awards or is it based on if you were in the raid only ?

Is there going to be a way to see what the records are throughout the weekend? A way to see where our guild stacks up and see what time we need to beat?

I can post best times sometime Saturday and Sunday night (EST) but a guild may have multiple best times. However, when we actually determine the winners, a guild can only win once, so the best times for some raids may differ in the end.
