PvP, Status Resist versus Knockback Resist v2.0

There are four kinds of affects/ attacks in PvP in BoH v2.0:

Physical Status Change/ Debuff, from Physical Attack, which can be resisted with Status Resist (Status Resist +20% while Defending) or avoided when Dodged (Dodge +10% while Defending) or avoided when Blocked (Block +20% while Defending). Ex: Bleed from Wound attack.

Physical Knockback, from Physical Attack, which can be reduced by Knockback Resist (Knockback Resist +50% while Defending) or avoided when Dodged (Dodge +20% while Defending) or avoided when Blocked (Block +20% while Defending). Knockback is also avoided if you are already Stunned. Ex: Knockback from Seismic Slash attack.

Magic Status Chance/ Debuff, from Magic Attack, which can be resisted with Status Resist (Status Resist +20% while Defending) and cannot be Spell Dodged and cannot be Blocked. Ex: Chill from Frozen Shard.

Magic Knockback, from Magic Attack, which can be reduced by Knockback Resist (Knockback Resist +50% while Defending) or avoided when Dodged (Dodge +20% while Defending) or avoided when Blocked (Block +20% while Defending). Knockback is also avoided if you are already Stunned. Ex: Knockback from Ice Lance attack.

In all the above, Physical Attacks can be Dodged for no damage, or Blocked for half damage while Magic Attacks can be Spell Dodged for half damage and Blocked for half damage. Defend further reduces all damage by another 50% while active.

Time Void is not an attack, does zero damage, so it cannot be Dodged or Blocked. However, Status Resist (Status Resist +20% while Defending) still works.

Smoke Bomb is not an attack, does zero damage, so it cannot be Dodged or Blocked. However, Knockback Resist (Knockback Resist +50% while Defending) still works.

In BoH v2.0, Shadow Walker Riposte will reduce an Attack’s time to 0.0s (Ex: Piercing Strike), but will not affect Knockback.

One Justicar Combo is Brutal Strike/ Seismic Slash/ Heroic Will/ Brutal Strike/ Stunning Blow. It is often better to save your Defend for Brutal Strike or Siesmic Slash. If a Justicar Stuns you, then does Brutal Strike, the Physical Knockback is wasted.

A Justicar can Wound/ Stunning Blow/ Brutal Strike if the casting time for Stun plus Brutal Strike is greater than 1.0s since the Bleed from the Wound will cancel the Stun, since you are no long Stunned, the Brutal Strike will do Physical Knockback.

Sticky Grenade is not an attack, does zero initial damage, so it cannot be Dodged or Blocked. Additionally, Status Resist does not work against it. However, Sticky Grenade does no damage for 2.0s, then explodes for 100% to 200% Base Weapon Damage. If you are Defending when it explodes, you reduce its damage by half.

One Shadow Walker Combo is wait for a fast attack from you, cast Sticky Grenade, Dodge/ Spell Dodge, Riposte (Sticky Grenade casting time is unaffected by Haste, but is affected by Riposte. If Riposte does not trigger, normal 0.5s cast time), Ensnare, Caltrop (lower Status Resist if not Defending), Piercing Strike (no Dodge and no Block while Stunned), Reflexive Strike (to draw an attack instead of Defend), Smoke Bomb in an attempt to prevent you Defending against Sticky Grenade’s damage. Sometimes you can foil this by casting an attack shorter than the Shadow Walker’s combined Reflexive Strike and Smoke Bomb then Defending, instead of Smoke Bomb preventing your Defend, it actually increases your Defend by 0.25s to 0.5s.

as far as I can tell through experience, with the exception that it raises your might, knock back resistance is a *** worthless enchantment. use your resources for other ones that will actually aid you in pvp

With Elder Fury rank 3, Knockback Resist Enchant rank 3 times 3, Justicar Zeetha has a 52% Knockback Resistance normally, and 102% when Defending.

If you wish to increase you Knockback "Resistance" in PvP, use a Shield. A successful Block, Dodge, or Spell Dodge gives you 100% Knockback Resist.

As a bonus, Knockback Resistance if useful in Legacy of Blades Raid which helps you earn Hero Tokens to improve your PvP Build.

MY PERSONAL OPINION
Justicar Zeetha loves Knockback Resistance. It always makes me smile when Zeetha Defends against a Smoke Bomb or Seismic Slash and they do 0.0s of Knockback.
